TL;DR

The Loft is a separate home hub that the game swaps in for the Apartment after you complete the Independent ending arc. From a play-loop angle it’s almost identical — same wardrobe, same computer, same vanity, same daily routine — but the Master arc no longer reaches in. No morning inspections, no curfew checks, no rent due, no panty hint scenes.

If your girlfriend accepted you on the Sarah arc (girlfriend_accepts_fem), she might be in the kitchen on a morning roll. Otherwise the Loft is yours.

How you get here

Loft is gated by the moved_out VAR, flipped during the Independent ending scene Endgame_Independent_MoveOut in Endgame.ink. The ending requires:

master_intensity >= 1 (you had a Master to leave)
MasterRelationship low enough to break clean, OR you reached the Independent fork in the Endgame Mirror
You picked the “leave” beat through the dildo + apartment + moveout chain

Once moved_out = true, every overnight routes to LoftSleep instead of ApartmentSleep, and Outside-from-Apartment becomes Outside-from-Loft.

Sleep heals you to max_energy. Day++. Overnight processing runs. The morning planner overlay fires once per day.

What’s different

No rent. The Loft’s LoftSleep skips the rent due/Master payment block entirely.
No Master morning checks. No Master_MorningCheck, no Morning_Inspection, no Morning_Curfew_Violation. Those knots all guard on not moved_out (or on the apartment-side ApartmentSleep path which the Loft no longer runs).
Girlfriend morning roll. If girlfriend_accepts_fem is true, there’s a 40% chance the morning narration includes a one-line beat of her brushing your hair back. Otherwise the loft is quiet.
Saturday GF dates run from here. Spend the day with {GirlfriendName} lives in the Loft hub on Saturdays the same way it does in the Apartment.

Auto-routines

The Loft morning routine (stat auto-cage-post for cage-stream players) mirrors MorningRoutine but reads LoftMorningRoutine. Same auto-makeup gate (auto_makeup && Energy >= vanity_cost(10)), same auto cage-post gate (auto_cage_post && wearing_chastity && master_intensity >= 2 && sms_master_cage_post_intro && onlyfems_installed).

If you ended Independent at intensity 0 from the start, the auto cage-post gate is unreachable here. The setting still exists in Vanity Settings; it just never fires.

Tips and gotchas

The Loft is post-game, not mid-game

You cannot manually flip moved_out. Reaching Ending 2 is the only path. Once moved, you can’t go back — the Apartment dispatcher is bypassed for the rest of the run.

Apartment expansions follow you

If you bought the Basement or Playroom upgrades before moving out, those rooms are accessible from the Loft via the same choices (apartment_expansion_enabled && apartment_has_basement etc.). The expansion VARs aren’t reset on move.

Master orders don't propagate

If you had an active master_order_* (chastity, plug, downsize) at the moment of move-out, the order is effectively dropped. There’s no Master to enforce it. You can keep the cage on by choice — wearing_chastity survives the move — but no one will check.
