Edging and Denial

TL;DR

Arousal is still the bar for the moment. Underneath it there is now a slower count: denial points. They build over every night you go without a full orgasm and every time you stop yourself at the edge, and they set your denial level: Calm, Restless, Needy, Desperate, Broken.

Each level changes the day. You wake up more aroused, you earn less at a day job and more at sex work, refusing the big asks starts to cost you, things slip out when you talk to people, and accidents come sooner. Only a full orgasm with the cage off resets it. A ruined one, an accident or anything that happens while you are caged does not.

All of that is free. With Patreon, someone else can take the count off your hands: a keeper order from your Owner, Sarah or Jesse, or the HypnoMind program.

Switching it on and off

Settings > Content Preferences > Edging and denial. It is on by default, for new games and for saves from before v0.5. Switched off, the count stops and the levels stop doing anything; your points wait where they were until you switch it back on. A running keeper order ends that night.

Spanking has its own row in the same list. It is opt-in, off by default, and only does something with Edging and denial on: it lets a keeper punish a broken order with a spanking.

Points and levels

Two edges a day get you to Broken in about five or six days.

What counts as a full orgasm

• Full: you came, the cage was off, and nobody ruined it. By your own hand, with a partner, or in a scene that gave you no say. It resets everything.
• Ruined: a ruined release, and any orgasm while caged, whatever the scene calls it. No reset, and your Arousal drops to half of what it was.
• Accidents are ruined too: no reset, Arousal halves, and each one is counted.
• Not an orgasm at all: the cold shower, the spa’s cold plunge, a dip at the beach, the calm supplement. They lower Arousal and leave the count alone.

Edging

• Porn edging on the laptop (the careful and the risky version) now scores a point per edge.
• Edge in bed (apartment or Loft, uncaged): 5 Energy, +6 Arousal, one edge.
• Tease yourself through the cage (apartment or Loft, caged): 5 Energy, +5 Arousal, one edge. At Broken there is a 30% chance it tips over into an accident.

Edges past the fourth in a day still count for the journal and the prose, just not for points. Neither row shows at Her Place or His Place: your partner is home.

What each level does

Calm plays exactly like the game before v0.5.

The Sub rule already existed for players with a Master or the Devoted trait; from Desperate it applies to everyone.

Accidents

The longer the count runs, the sooner Arousal tips over on its own:

The actions are counted from the moment Arousal reaches the starting value.

Every accident is a ruined orgasm: Arousal halves, your level and nights stay. They also get louder. The scene changes with your first, your second and third, and your fourth or later accident since you last came properly, and in public there are witnesses and extra Shame (+3, +5 from the fourth). Saying yes

Refusing always stays possible. From Desperate it costs: about a dozen of the big asks (the bar’s back alley, the Owner’s private inspections and tests, the spa masseur, the Velvet Lounge, the club’s VIP booth and dance floor, the park photo and stretch scenes, the sugar daddy’s weekend) charge the price in the table when you say no.

Desperation also opens four desperate offers that do not exist below Desperate: the gym sauna goes further than a hand on your knee, the club restroom, a park bench (Arousal 70+), and the bar’s back room. Each plays once, then again at most once a week.

Who notices

• Slips. At Desperate and Broken a line can slip out when you talk to coworkers, the barista, your Owner, your partner, clients and dates. Each slip costs +1 Shame.
• Your Owner’s inspection. He remarks on it at Restless and Needy, makes you hold still at Desperate, and at Broken makes you ask for it and says no. He knows when you have leaked.
• Sarah or Jesse in bed notice from Needy and tease and stop from Desperate.
• Escort clients can tell from Desperate.
• Vivienne at the Velvet Lounge has her own remark about how long it has been.

Where it shows

• Stats panel: five pips under the Arousal bar and the level name. Hover or tap for the nights, edges and accidents, and what the current level does.
• Character panel: the same pips.
• A status icon from Desperate on.
• Journal: your longest denial and your accidents, next to Times edged.
• Tasks app: a keeper’s order and its slips, when someone is keeping you.

Keeper orders (Patreon in v0.5)

Everything above is free. With Patreon, someone can take the count off your hands and give it a target. One order at a time, and it needs a free row in the Tasks app. After an order closes, nobody issues the next one for a week. When two keepers could issue on the same day, your Owner goes first, then Sarah or Jesse, then the program.

The order

The Tasks app shows No coming for (keeper): night N of T, with a bar of nights. A night only counts if you did not come properly that day.

• Edge session. Once per order, from night 3, your Owner or Sarah or Jesse takes you to the edge three times and stops (+3 points). Until your Owner has had his hands on you, he counts from the couch and your own hand does the work. The program’s version is called the Deepener.
• Begging. From Needy, once a day: to your Owner at the inspection or in reply to his text, to Sarah or Jesse in bed or at home, or with the program’s Beg card. The chance is 10% plus 10% per level, minus 10% per slip, never below 5% (30% at Needy with a clean record, 50% at Broken). A yes plays the release now. A no adds a night, except from a Roommate or the program.
• The release. When the nights are done, your keeper plays the release and decides how it ends, full or ruined. The ruin chance: your Owner 0, 25 or 50% (Roommate, Landlord, Owner), Sarah 25% at tier 2 and 50% at tier 3, Sarah at Her Place 25%, Jesse 15%, the program 30%, plus 15% per slip, at most 95%. It is always ruined when a third slip or a punishment armed it, or when your keeper cannot take your cage off (somebody else holds the key, or the lock is permanent). Either way the order closes there.

Slips and breaks

• Every third slip: two more nights, and the release will be ruined.
• A break: three more nights, and a punishment at the next contact. A spanking when the Spanking toggle is on; otherwise a cage locked on you, if you are uncaged and have not walked away from the cage before; otherwise the release will be ruined. A Roommate only ever arms the ruined release.
• Breaking the program’s order: three more nights, its next two sessions go deeper, and if you are uncaged the hypno nights of Compelled into chastity can start.

Your keeper tells you what they know at the next contact, in their own voice: your Owner at the inspection, Sarah or Jesse in bed or on Sunday, the program as a notification.

If your keeper can no longer keep the order (the Owner is gone, you leave Her Place or His Place, you break up, you switch the track off), it ends quietly that night.
